Last Week, Atlas School’s summer graduating class presented their capstone projects during Demo Day. This event allows students to showcase their final project to an audience of local employers, classmates, and loved ones.
Projects concepts varied from independent student ideas to collaborations with local companies. Our students demonstrated the full scope of their creativity and technical abilities, with projects including slot machines, aviation simulators, and more.

Whims
Whims is a group calendar website designed to mitigate indecisiveness within friend groups. Inspired by their own difficulties in coordinating activities, the team sought to create a solution that enables a smooth process of identifying, communicating, and confirming social plans.
Built primarily with the FERN stack — Firebase, Express, REACT, and Node — they developed an User Interface (UI) and design that is both technically sound and user friendly.

Cymstar Aviation Trainer
The Cymstar Aviation Trainer, created in partnership with Cymstar, is a 2D application that enhances flight training. The design provides pilots with hands-on training experience using aircraft instrumentation before they are in the cockpit.
Our team was provided with code from Cymstar, and tasked with creating a mini-aviation trainer to replace other current outdated training methods. This group utilized Python, SQLite, and Unity to ensure a realistic training environment within their simulation.
