Student Spotlights allow us to recognize students whose contributions make Atlas School a welcoming, uplifting community. Students can nominate their peers for going above and beyond in their coursework and support of their fellow classmates. Foster Clark represents Atlas School’s values as a student and valuable member of our Student Life Committee.
Foster shares his experience learning Computer Science and Full-Stack Web Development.
Foster: I dove into coding driven by a desire for a more balanced work-life dynamic, transitioning from my film background to the tech realm. My lifelong fascination with computers, coupled with a curiosity about the logic and reasoning that underpin coding, made this field a natural fit for me. Coding not just resonates with my way of thinking but also opens up a world where I can blend creativity with technology to solve problems and build innovative solutions.
Foster: I chose the Full-Stack Web Development program because of the broad spectrum of knowledge and opportunities it has unlocked for me. The skills I’m acquiring are not just pivotal for understanding and building websites but are also incredibly applicable to other tech domains, such as cloud engineering. This program excites me as it equips me with a versatile skill set, laying a solid foundation for my aspirations in cloud development, and enabling me to bridge the gap between front-end and back-end technologies seamlessly.
Foster: My favorite aspect of being an Atlas student is the project-based and peer-based learning approach, which not only closely mirrors the real-world job environment but also hones my ability to quickly grasp new concepts—a skill I consider paramount in the fast-evolving tech industry. This method of learning cultivates a strong sense of community and camaraderie among students, enhancing our educational journey with practical skills and meaningful friendships. Additionally, my active involvement in the student life committee has not only deepened my connection to the Tulsa community but also made my experience more enriching by allowing me to participate in local activities.
