Student Spotlight — Kier McAlister

Student Spotlights allow us to recognize students whose contributions make Atlas School a welcoming, uplifting community. Students can nominate their peers for going above and beyond in their coursework and support of their fellow classmates. Kier McAlister has embraced the Atlas community wholeheartedly, and is making the most of the oppurtunites at their disposal.

Kier shares their experience learning Computer Science and Full-Stack Web Development.

Why did you choose to learn coding?

Kier: I have always been interested in coding and saw this as a great opportunity for getting to use my love for art and design while also helping make a difference in the tech community. 

Tell us about your program and why you’re excited!

Kier: In Full Stack we get to learn several different languages and frameworks. I love getting to see my handwork rendered in real time. The possibilities are endless and I’m so excited for what the future will hold! 

What is your favorite thing about being an Atlas School student?

Kier: It’s the community for me. I’ve made so many friends and connections, the camaraderie is impeccable. We’re not only learning to code but we’re learning to collaborate and work as a team as well as networking and gearing ourselves up for the workforce. I am forever grateful!
