Atlas School Celebrates Women’s History Month

Tulsa, Okla. | February 27, 2025 – Atlas School, a software engineering school in downtown Tulsa, is celebrating Women’s History Month with a series of events designed to honor the achievements of women in the community and empower attendees to advance in leadership and career growth. Through engaging discussions, hands-on learning opportunities, and valuable networking, these events will highlight the importance of gender equity and provide resources to support women in their professional and personal journeys.

Through these events, we hope to inspire women to pursue their goals fearlessly and connect them with the resources and networks to support their success."

Equal Pay Day & Women’s Resource Fair

March 14: 5:30 - 7:30 p.m.

Doors open at 5 p.m. for registration

Atlas School Main Campus and Annex - 15 N. Cheyenne, Tulsa

Atlas School will host its third annual Equal Pay Day Panel & Women's Resource Fair, an evening dedicated to empowering women in their careers and financial futures.

Event highlights include:
  • Keynote Addresses, beginning at 5:30, will explore the challenges women face in pursuing education and career growth, as well as strategies for overcoming barriers to success. Speakers will share perspectives on leadership, the resilience required to break new ground, and the unique hurdles women must navigate in advancing their careers and fostering opportunities for women in the workforce. Featured speakers include:
    • Laura Latta, Ph.D. – Executive Director, Tulsa Higher Education Consortium
    • Toneille Bent – - Executive Vice President of Culture and Engagement, Family & Children's Services
  • A resource fair that connects attendees with organizations that offer services and support for women in Tulsa begins at 6:30 p.m. At least 13 organizations are confirmed, and include League of Women Voters, Family & Children's Services (F&CS), Oklahoma Women in Tech (OKWIT), Take Control Initiative, Techlahoma, YWCA, REI Oklahoma, Poppi & Silk Salon, Tulsa Health Department (Maternal & Child Health Outreach & Epidemiology) and Tulsa Responds.
Girls Scouts of Eastern Oklahoma Bot Coding Camp

March 15: 9 a.m. - 3 p.m.

Atlas School - 15 N. Cheyenne, Tulsa

In partnership with Oklahoma Women in Technology, Atlas School is offering a full day of coding and robotics for high school-aged Girl Scouts, culminating in a final demonstration of their work. Interested Girl Scouts can sign up through the Girl Scouts of Eastern Oklahoma.

Open House, Featuring Guest Speaker Taguma Nicholas

March 27: 5 - 8 p.m.

Atlas School - 15 N. Cheyenne, Tulsa

The March open house will inform interested students and families and feature guest speaker Taguma Nicholas, who will discuss women in tech, data privacy and the real-world use of personal data. Nicholas, co-founder of Maverick Data, has over a decade of experience shaping strategy, architecture and scalable solutions for Fortune 50 to 500 companies. A TEDx speaker, she has delivered talks on data responsibility and AI bias, advocating for ethical and equitable technology use.
